Sofia, NM and Painted Horses in Amarillo, TX

Some of you know that I LOVE "The Trail of Painted Ponies" figurines... When we drove through Amarillo, TX I snapped these shots of these horses. They are not the trail of painted ponies, but they look like them. We stopped at the big TX welcome center and I asked about them. They gave me a 4 page front and back list of the addresses they are located at. There are over 100 painted horses in Amarillo.

We snapped a picture of the "Sofia" sign on the highway. Nan says Grandma Dennis lived there a while and they always called it "Sofie".

Gangsta Granny!

Sorry Nan, I had to do it! Nanny turned her hat because the sun was in her face and I called her name and when she turned I took the photo! She was just too funny :-) I love you Nan

TX and Red River, NM Trip

I went to Texas on Sat. the 25th. I got to see Scott and Mandy and my niece's Jolie Cate and June Bug. Andrea came to visit us at the farm with the kids too. Angelina was standing on her foot braces really well (with a little help from Andi). We did not get to see Trace, Jen, and the kids:-( Also, I got to eat Dad's salmon and ribs he made in his smoker. Yum. I did not brag to my poor Weeyum about our great food because he had to stay here without me or Zach and work while I got to play for 10 days! It went by so fast, it did not feel like 10 days.
Well, while I was helping Dad clean and fix on the RV on Tues the 28th, me, Nanny, Mom and Dad decided to take a trip to Red River, NM! That night Dad and I grilled brats, chicken, and hamburger patties to take with us. Nanny brought raisin cinnamon bread that I loved. We had so much food to eat, we definitely did not go hungry :-) We left the next day. It had been raining pretty heavily all morning and we got the RV stuck in the mud! Then, Dad had me pull it out in his truck and Mom steer the RV while he directed. Mom and I were a little scared. She thought she was going to run over her only daughter with the RV :-) I was ready to keep pulling all the way to the front gate if I had to! We stopped in Amarillo, TX the first night. The next morning Nan and I got up and it was freezing outside!
We got to Roadrunner camp site the next evening. There were bears on the camp site. We did not see the bears, but that is a track next to my foot... and I have a big foot! William and I will definitely be going back to Red River...
We drove to Antonito, NM to ride on a train that takes you up in the mountains, they served us a HUGE lunch and then took us back. It is a full day trip. We were there at 9:00am and got back to our camp site about 8:00pm. It was beautiful and I had a great time.
